Donations and Bequests

We are grateful for the donations and bequests we receive from individuals, community groups and other organisations in support of our work.
 
As KCHT has a tax exempt charity status we are able to claim back the basic tax from the Government on donations from individuals, increasing the value of every £1 received by a further 25p. 
 
To make a donation, please complete and return the Donations and Gift Aid form.

Recent donations and bequests include

• A donation of £15,000 from Judith Johnstone. The donation was made possible through an unexpected legacy from Judith's long-term friend, Barbara Mullard, who spent most of her holidays with the Johnstones in Keswick, and knew from her own personal experience the problems of finding a starter home. 
  
• £1,023 from Keswick Boundaries Action Group
• £12,671 from the executors of Christine Buchanan in recognition of our commitment to providing affordable housing so that people can live in the vicinity of their employment.
• £2,396 from Crosthwaite Church from their Church Roof appeal.  Reverend Andy Murphie felt it was important to put roofs over people’s heads as well as Churches.
• A gift to enable us to install improved green and energy efficient components to our Southey Court Development, the donors wish to remain anonymous.  Including sustainability into our designs is part of our mission statement, however costs can be a limiting factor.  The donation has allowed us to provide all four properties with triple glazing, more efficient boilers, flue gas heat recovery/economiser units and the wiring for vehicular electric charging points.  These enhancements will make a difference to the emissions from the properties and reduce on going bills for the residents.
• A bequest from Gillian Thorne who supported KCHT during her life, and included us in her will.  Her generous gift has contributed greatly by reducing the amount of finance we required to fund the costs of our Southey Court development, which provided 4 new homes for families.​​
